MASSAGE THERAPY IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

The Massage Therapy Association of British Columbia (MTA) state very clearly that the professional standards and regulations set for our profession.

“…RMT’s in B.C. have the highest educational standards in North America. In B.C., RMT’s must now complete a minimum of three years of specialized education and training program at an accredited college. The government approved curriculum requires rigorous study and a thorough understanding of related sciences such as pathology, neurology, anatomy, remedial exercise, kinesiology, physiology and clinical sciences. All RMT’s must successfully complete the B.C. registration exams set by the College of Massage Therapists (CMT) and must continue with post-graduate studies to maintain registration as a RMT. RMT’s honour a strict code of ethics set by the CMT which ensures that the patient receives competent and ethical care. Also, patient trust and confidentiality is always respected.”

All of our therapists are registered with the CMT and adhere to the guidelines set out above.
